YouTube natural hair guru, Kasharie Sanders aka Sharie Shine brings natural hair education to the city of Texarkana during her first hair event, Think Kinks. Different naturals with different textures learned the importance of proper hair growth and styling techniques within the Texas High School cafeteria Friday night at 7pm.

"It's a good building block for naturals to start or to start over to get the education they need", said Sanders. Sanders began building those blocks with the two moisturizing methods. "You have the LOC for high porosity hair or you may have the LCO for low-porosity hair". Sanders described the LOC method as the Liquid Oil Cream method, which consists of a water based moisturizing agent, an oil, and a cream for high porosity hair. "High-porosity, that easily accepts moisture, but looses it very easily", said Sanders. The LCO method as the Liquid Cream Oil method consists of a water based moisturizing agent, a cream, and a moisturizing oil.

While teaching self-love, yet hair growth techniques, Sanders had assistance with the Master Stylist, Gentry Lamar, whom later consulted the natural hair attendees after the event. The dynamic duo answered questions and concerns regarding natural hair. "We teach the public about caring for natural hair. It's a beginner's manual", said Sanders. The attendees began their manual with popular hair brand, The Mane Choice with winner give aways and swag bags. "Tonight, Mane Choice is providing hair care and body products", said Sanders.

Sanders also included local business vendors for future Texarkana entrepreneurs. "It's important for me to give back to my community. It's important to give people guidance. To show them that someone just like them that doesn't have to be offered to them can do it themselves. I've got successful and talented individuals who have started their businesses here and to be an example that hey they can do it, than I can do it too".

Besides using water for moisturizing and years of research, the nine-year natural hair veteran gave valuable much needed advice for the natural hair attendees. "Cut it off. If it's heat damage, split-ends, if you have difficulty cutting defined twist-outs and you don't know what it is, maybe you need a trim. Don't be scared to cut it off, because your hair is going to benefit and grow faster", said Sanders.
