Flobinna House of Fashion Hosts Model Call

Flobinna House of Fashion will host their first model call Saturday evening 3:00pm-6:00pm December 1st. Models will be selected for upcoming Dallas Fashion Week January 3-6 in the Pan-African Connection Bookstore Art Gallery and Resource Center 4466 South Marsalis Avenue Dallas, TX 75216.
"I have a model call. We actually got invited to the Dallas Fashion Week, which is coming up January 3-6. They asked us to bring our own models or did we want them to find models for us. We were like we're going to bring our own models, so that's why we are having a model call for the models that we're going to choose", said Head Designer and CEO of Flobinna House of Fashion, Florence Okonkwo.
The head fashion designer will select a limited number of models for Dallas Fashion Week. "I have 25 models. I need 25 models. Out of 25, I'm going to have 5 kids. Boy or Girl. Ten Females and 10 Males", said Okonkwo.
All models must follow submission guidelines to audition. "We accept online submissions also. Not only will it be in person, but we accept online also. Those that can't make it to that event that particular day, can also submit online submissions. Videos of them walking or send it through e-mail", said Okonkwo.
To audition, all models must be experienced. "Models must be experienced. This is Dallas Fashion Week. They are looking for experienced models. Models that have done fashion shows and know how to walk the runway", said Okonkwo.
The model call is not limited to the Dallas area, however Okonkwo is looking for a specific model necessity for her fashion line."I'm looking for the "model walk". The personality comes in that too, because they have to walk correct. We want them to sell the outfit. The outfit to speak for itself. Another way for the model to actually looks. Everything just kind of plays into it", said Okonkwo.
Various pieces will be available for all selected models once chosen. "I have clothes for men, women, and children. If you look at my social media page, I have bumper jackets, different tops, and I have this long moo-moo dress. Basically, it all adds up to whatever fits the particular model. Based on the model that I see, I get to choose what outfit that will particularly fit them", said Okonkwo.
Model coaches Avia Iusepr and Yaritza Sperwill will help select the chosen models. "I'm just the designer, but I have two head models that are going to help pick the models", said Okonkwo.
