Queenish Black Dolls held their Queenish Black Dolls Extravaganza Showcase 2018 Saturday morning, September 22nd 11 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Unapologetically African-American doll lovers embraced the beauty, style, and creativity of black dolls, while learning the history behind them in the Lancaster Grand Hill Ballroom 1700 Veteran's Memorial Park 75134.
"This year, Queenish Professional Women’s Club Network and Quinnie Nichols, brought the most exciting doll event geared toward celebrating the unique qualities of the African American personality", said Founder of Queenish Professional Woman, Quinnie Nichols.

As a child, the five-year doll collector never played with dolls. Instead of disregarding her history, she used her platform to educate the public about black dolls similar to the upcoming doll extravaganza. "We are designed to educate and promote the beauty of the African American Woman, this event took us on a journey revisiting the history black dolls", said Nichols.
With an exciting theme, attendees enjoyed creative, yet gracious activities regarding African-American dolls during the event. "Our theme is “Black Is Beautiful: Why Black Dolls Matter". We showcased a landmark collection of black dolls", said Nichols.
The event showcased creative, yet gracious looks among the dolls during the event. "There were also exhibitions where a variety of dolls were displayed. These exhibits promised to marry the best of art and history creating a rich experience for all who witnessed them. There were presentations of Black Antique Dolls as well as Dolls that reflect Black Modern History", said Nichols.

According to Nichols, the showcase will combated negative stereotypes among African-American dolls within the toy industry. "With troubling stereotypes circulating, we wanted to be careful showing the beauty and rich heritage in our extensive Doll Collection. We want our children to see beautiful reflections of themselves and the countless possibilities before them", said Nichols.
Nichols and different instructors taught the history behind black dolls. "Linda Brown and the doll test was the video we play during or showcase event on 9/22 and we passed out information on the history", said Nichols.
Attendees will also worked on special projects that will be displayed. "We created project together and everyone will show case some of their collections", said Nichols.

With much activity, everyone enjoyed attending the Saturday morning event. "Education of dolls, fun, networking and guidance. We wanted someone who would like to make a difference in promoting black dolls and auctioning the beauty of black dolls", said Nichols.
The dolls are not be available for the holidays, however all age groups were welcomed without special requirements or sign-ups. "Whether you are a Doll Collector, Doll Enthusiast, or someone who appreciates the beauty of Dolls, and what they embody, there is definitely no better event to look out for than this one. Black Dolls Matter", said Quinnie Nichols.
